Hawaii Tourism Authority Releases New RFP Seeking Destination Marketing and Brand Management Services for the U.S. Market

HONOLULU, October 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), the state’s tourism agency and destination management organization, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for Hawaii tourism destination marketing and brand management services for the United States Core Market Area, the islands’ largest visitor source market.

The scope of services of the tender has been amended to include destination management services, in line with HTA’s new vision of Malama Kuu Home (taking care of my beloved home) through the principles of regenerative tourism. HTA’s goal is to help the community have a greater voice in the future of tourism, with a focus on environmental regeneration, perpetuation of Hawaiian culture, recognition Hawaii multi-ethnic cultures and supporting responsible economic outcomes.

HTA will select the company deemed most qualified and able to provide a full range of comprehensive marketing and brand management services for the Hawaiian Islands. HTA asks all interested candidates to register their intention to apply by October 15, 2021. Details of this requirement can be found in the full text of the RFP.

HTA will also host a virtual pre-proposal conference the week of October 18, 2021 on Zoom so that interested candidates are informed of the supply and can ask questions.

The new contract will have a start date of January 1, 2022 and replace the current contract which is due to end this year.

The deadline for submission of proposals by applicants is November 12, 2021at 4:30 p.m. HST. The deadlines are indicated in the request for proposals and can be modified if necessary.
