Hawaii Tourism Authority Issues Request for Proposals

The Hawaii Tourism Authority, the state agency responsible for managing tourism and enhancing the brand of the Hawaiian Islands globally, issued a request for proposals to seek strategic services visitor education and destination brand marketing and management for the core Japanese market.

Through this procurement process, HTA will select a qualified contractor to provide visitor education and brand management services in Japan. Guided by HTA’s mission at Malama Ku’u Home (Caring for Our Beloved Home), its 2020-25 Strategic Plan and community-focused Destination Management Action Plans, the work of the entrepreneur will support a new model of regenerative tourism for Hawaii.

Work performance will be measured against key performance indicators in accordance with HTA’s strategic plan, including increase in average daily visitor spend and increase in total visitor spend.

All interested applicants should register and attend HTA’s pre-proposal conference via Zoom to be informed of the procurement process and to ask questions. The pre-proposal conference will take place on Friday at 3 p.m. To register, go to https://bit.ly/3RbPROh.

Interested applicants must also register their intention to submit proposals by 4:30 p.m. on October 3, and proposals must be delivered to HTA by 2 p.m. on October 28.

The new contract will start on January 1 and will replace the current contract, which is due to end on December 31.
