Should you rent a convertible?
Pros:
You really feel the breeze in your face. As long as you cruise
a little bit on main street after sunset, you're O.K.
Cons:
You should always sport a white canvas hat with a wide brim,
preferably soaked in cool water every 1/2 an hour,
to avoid a sun stroke. Your nose should be covered with thick
sun screen lotion. Never drive one with your shirt off!
For longer trips, wear long sleeves and pants.
Before you hit the highway, tie up your hair or later on you'll
spend quite some time, untangling it.
When you're on the Hilo (rainy) side, be prepared
to keep rolling the soft top up and down, (usually) all day.
If you park your car with the top down and there's a little rain,
you'll find that your car has turned into a bathtub,
while you were away. Even though crime is almost negligible here,
it's easier to open a trunk than to open a car door for a thief.
In case of an accident (rollover), your not well protected.
You're also not too well protected against mosquitoes, flies,
gnats, bees, wasps, bats and the like.
You're also not well protected, should you decide to have some fun
with your fiance on the back seat :-)! JUST KIDDING!!!
