The Dole Cup Air Race flyers weren't really the first to fly non-stop from
the mainland to Hawai'i, but they received the most publicity. 
Two Army flyers made it to Honolulu and two civilians landed on Molokai 
in a keawe tree, a little earlier that year. This Molokai flight is still an 
all time record, it hasn't been duplicated since.
