It's called the Painted Church, because the first pastor painted the 
entire interior himself. He didn't have much of a choice, Michelangelo 
was dead and most likely would have preferred working for the Pope. 
This church once stood in the heart of Kalapana and when the lava came, 
heroic volunteers put it on a truck and hauled it here, in the last moment.
