This is where you will buy real estate, when you move to Pahoa. If you prefer the countryside to the city :-), there are fantastic deals in the jungle. You get an acre for less than $ 10,000 in beautiful Kalapana. There's a slight problem though. You can't get insurance on your house because of the relative lava danger, so you bring cash. If you don't want to invest (and risk) a whole lot, just get a yurt for $ 6000 or so. If you want to see a real modern day yurt, inside and out, take a DETOUR.
